Moving Day

I can't even explain how ready I was to move to university. After an incredible gap year and summer, I'd spent the whole of September getting increasingly bored and agitated. WHY DOES WARWICK START SO FRIGGIN' LATE? I swear half my friends had left for second year right at the beginning of September and all of my fellow gappies had trickled off shortly after.

Saying all of this, I can't deny that I still left packing to the last minute and was feeling more than a little under-prepared when Friday came and I still hadn't chosen what clothes I was going to bring with me.
What do people bring to uni? Can't I just take all my clothes?

After plenty of tears of frustration as my whole life refused to fit into the car, I finally left for uni, hoping that I hadn't left anything important behind.

I wasn't actually meant to move in until the Sunday as moving in slots were in surname alphabetical order, but when I turned up it seemed that no one had adhered to that rule. Who would want to miss the first night of freshers anyway? I collected my keys and made my way to my new home, the party halls of the Warwick Uni Campus - Rootes, but New Rootes as opposed to aptly named 'Shit Rootes' that were built a billion years before. My room felt pretty big and after a few hours of unpacking and arranging my belongings (mainly done by my Mum) I felt like I'd made a little home and went off to explore as the rents set up my new printer.

The best thing about moving in day is that everyone is in the same position so it really didn't take long for me to meet some fellow freshers to head down to the Freshers Fair with. We dashed round filling our Freshers Bags with all the free stuff we could find and queued up multiple times for the free dominoes pizza but left a little disheartened as all the Saturday Freshers t-shirts had sold out before we arrived.

My flat's pretty quiet today as only five people have moved in. I've adopted the flat next door as my social group for the night and am now off to cook pizza for one of the guys next door on the promise of free lunch tomorrow.

Will update soon.
